The Australian Workers' Union v Registered Organisations Commissioner

On 11 October 2019 the Federal Court issued a decision in the matter of The Australian Workers’ Union (AWU) v Registered Organisations Commissioner (VID1151/2017).
The Court requested that the parties further address his Honour on the appropriate final orders to be made to give effect to the Court's reasons.
Today the Federal Court has delivered its reasons and made final orders.
The effect of the orders made are that the documents seized under the search warrants will remain in the custody of the Australian Federal Police pending an appeal that the ROC intends to make to the Full Federal Court.
The ROC will not make any further comment on the matter at this time.
