ROC reminds registered organisations to lodge disclosure statements on time
10 December 2018
The ROC is reminding registered organisations of the impending due date for the lodgement of Officer and Related Party Disclosure Statements (ORPS).
The statements are required to be lodged no later than 31 December 2018 by all organisations and branches which had financial years ending on 30 June 2018. This includes branches that have an exemption from financial reporting.
More than half of the statements required have still to be lodged with the ROC.
Failure to lodge on time is regarded by the ROC as a key compliance failure, and can incur a civil penalty of up to $252,000 for a serious contravention.
The Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 requires all branches and organisations to prepare statements about disclosures concerning relevant remuneration, non-cash benefits, and payments to related parties and declared persons or bodies.
To assist with the task, information and resources can be accessed on the ROC website, including an updated sample document template and checklist. For additional information including a fact sheet and guidance notes please see the Disclosure obligations page.
